Stephanie J. Stevenson
Stephanie started practicing law in 1997 after a ten year career as a vocational
rehabilitation counselor where she assisted persons with disabilities in
identifying and training for new vocations. The Law Office of Stephanie J.
Stevenson, P.C. built upon that experience by focusing on assisting people who
are injured or disabled to secure the benefits they are entitled to under state
and federal programs. Her primary work has been in the fields of Workers
’ Compensation and Social Security Disability. Prior to opening her own practice
in 2002, Stephanie contracted with Norton Frickey and Associates where she
handled Workers
’ Compensation cases and honed her negotiation and litigation skills.In 2010,
Stephanie decided to expand her representation to include disabled veterans.
She was recently admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans
Claims.
Stephanie graduated with a juris doctorate from the University of Denver, Strum
College of Law in 1997. Additionally, she holds a Masters degree in
Communications from the University of Northern Colorado and a Bachelors degree
in Psychology and Communications from the University of Colorado, Colorado

Throughout her professional career, Stephanie has worked tirelessly to help
people with disabilities and injuries get the benefits they deserve. To this
end, Stephanie has successfully argued before the Colorado Supreme Court
winning benefits that continue to help Workers
’ Compensation claimants across the state. Says Stephanie, “Our business philosophy is simple. We help people get the benefits they deserve,

Bridget Verbanac
Bridget is a paralegal extraordinaire who makes magic happen in the office. Her
trademark "make it happen" attitude allows her to navigate the complex issues
common to working with insurance companies and government agencies with ease.
Her colleagues marvel at her ability to accomplish seemingly impossible tasks
while clients praise her empathy and open communication style. Bridget
’s professional expertise, organization and communication skills are essential to
the team
’s success.
Bridget holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the
University of South Dakota and is certified as a Paralegal by the Denver
Paralegal Institute. She began her legal career in 1998 with the Standing Rock
Sioux Tribal Court in North Dakota, where she worked as a Juvenile Presenting
Officer and Acting Chief Clerk of Court.
When Bridget moved to Colorado Springs, she was hired as a Workers’ Compensation legal assistant and assistant office manager at a small law firm.
Her next job was working with Stephanie as a legal assistant and then paralegal
with Norton Frickey and Associates. Because they made such a great team,
Stephanie invited Bridget to join her when she opened her own firm in 2002.

Nate Searing
Nate Searing is the newest addition to the team, having started in mid-2009.
Nate serves as Client Services Coordinator, supporting the legal team and
assisting clients with a myriad of case-related responsibilities. He also
contributes to the firm
’s marketing efforts and spearheads Stephanie’s push to provide Colorado residents easier access to Social Security
Disability, Workers
’ Compensation and Veterans’ Disability news and information through this site and elsewhere.
Nate holds a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from the University of
Arizona. Relatively new to Colorado Springs, he began his career as a newspaper
reporter and later as a magazine editor in Southern Arizona, and also served as
a non-partisan legislative researcher for the Commerce Committee during the
Arizona Senate
’s 45th Legislature (2001/2002). He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in
Business Administration at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Stephanie has taken client cases all the way to the Colorado Supreme Court. In
2006, she won a case that continues to benefit injured workers throughout the
state by increasing the way benefits are figured when an injured worker loses
health insurance.
In 2010, the Supreme Court granted cert on another of Stephanie’s cases, Nelson v.ICAO. Oral argument is scheduled for March 2, 2010.
